Get acquainted with Hong Kong, a city of contradictions. With towering skyscrapers to the houses built with bamboo scaffolding, historic trams rumbling through Central and one of the most efficient subways in the world, Hong Kong is truly a fascinating city! The city has some of the best and most sophisticated restaurants in the world, and it is also home to one of the world's largest shopping malls as well as lively makeshift street markets. Visit Macau, a city with a unique mixture of Portuguese and Chinese cultures. Although Macau's rising reputation as a gambling and shopping mecca spurred by the grand openings of ever larger and grander casinos with equally ostentatious shopping malls is a major attraction for many, the city also has its fair share of beaches, fortresses, churches, temples, gardens, and excellent museums to explore.

Hong Kong is a unique meeting place for East and West, blending Chinese heritage, British colonial influences, high-tech modernity and Cantonese gusto. Hong Kong has become a world-class financial and business center. Skyscrapers and temples, shopping malls and traditional markets sit side by side. Hong Kong has a vast number of attractions, from parks and museums to entertainment and festivals, combining the best of Asia and the West in a glittering package. The shopping is excellent, and there are loads of things for the children to do. Hong Kong is one of those famous cities of the world that everyone wants to see at some point in their lives. It has such an exotic location and history and so many attractions that it makes the perfect place for a family holiday.
Macau is a Special Administrative Region (SAR) of China. Located across the Pearl River estuary from Hong Kong, until 1999 Macau was an overseas territory of Portugal. One of the world's most densely populated spots, Macau is best known as Asia's largest destination for gambling taking in even more revenue than Las Vegas. As the first and last European colony in Asia, Macau has more visible colonial history than Hong Kong. Walking through the old city you could convince yourself you were in Europe - if the streets were devoid of people and Chinese-language signage that is. The Portuguese and Macanese population continues to maintain a presence, but most of the population is native Chinese.
